just a few examples from our long list of success stories, showing why DRYLOK

DRYLOKŪ Key at Real Estate
Development
The beautiful stucco homes at Hidden
Canyon Estates had a problem with water seepage. Many of the homes were subject
to water penetration during heavy rainstorms, especially when the storms were
accompanied by high winds. Something had to be done to alleviate this
condition. Owners of the development contacted their local paint dealer for
their suggestion. The clear choice was DRYLOK Masonry Waterproofer. Over 10,000
gallons in three custom colors were applied to more than 80 homes at the
development. Now, the homes withstand even the most severe rain and
windstorms.
Seaworld Relies on
DRYLOKŪ
Thousands of people everyday pass through
an underwater passageway to view the Moray Eel Caverns at Sea World's Forbidden
Reef Exhibit. Because this masonry tunnel is below the surface of the exhibit,
it is subjected to extreme salt-water pressure from above, causing moisture
seepage in the passage.
Sea World relied on DRYLOK to solve the
problem at the recommendation of the Mission Valley Frazee Paint Store in San
Diego, DRYLOK was applied to the walls and ceiling of the passageway. The
result: No more water seepage and Sea World visitors continue to enjoy the
wonders of the Forbidden Reef.
Lithuanian Presidential
Palace
The Lithuanian Presidential Palace and
Parliament Building, located in the heart of the old town of Vilnius is a
beautiful old structure. Originally built in the mid 1700's, this spectacular
building was a smaller arts center. Under Soviet control, the building was
allowed to deteriorate and has been vacant since Lithuania regained its freedom
in 1991. It was recently decided to use the historic building as the president's
residence, and a major renovation was undertaken. RowanBest, UGL's Lithuanian
based dealer, supplied the contractors with state of the art coatings, sealants
and caulks to complete the job. DRYLOK Masonry Waterproofer not only protects
this historic treasure against the damaging Lithuanian weather, but also gives
it the grand appearance it deserves.
DRYLOKŪ Improving Cold War
Living
Pete's True Value of central Kansas
informed UGL of an order for 195 gallons of DRYLOK Masonry Waterproofer to coat
an underground missile silo being converted into living space. Although the Cold
War is over, hundreds of relics of the era - empty underground missile silos -
have been abandoned. Tim Schwartz, a private investor from Kansas purchased
one of these silos to become their new home. The Schwartz family needed a
coating that would beautify, as well as protect all the interior and exposed
exterior walls. They choose DRYLOK Masonry Waterproofer to coat the
2,400-square-foot, two-story command building, which has a 3-foot thick concrete
roof and is covered by 8 feet of soil. The lower floor of the command building
is approximately 35 feet below ground level. DRYLOK is really being put to the
test and standing up to it.
Maryland Hard Crabs Shed
Shells Thanks to DRYLOKŪ
Owners of Gills Seafood Co. constructed a
concrete block building designed to house Maryland blue crabs while they shed
their shells. Because of the complicated shedding process, it is important to
maintain an environment in the building's shedding tanks that remains as close
as possible to the crab's natural environment. There cannot be any outside water
penetrating the facility and any coating used on the inside of the structure
must not contain a high alkaline content. An inside "reservoir" containing water
that is pumped into the crab tanks also had to be kept free from external
moisture and toxins.
After investigating several products,
owner Ed Gills decided that DRYLOK fit the bill perfectly. He painted the
outside and inside of the building with 80 gallons of white DRYLOK to help
maintain the sensitive environment critical to the success of his business. Now,
the crabs are shedding and business is booming.
Aquatic Displays Preserved
With DRYLOKŪ
Abbott's Green Thumb Aquatic Nursery,
Portland, Oregon cleans and decorates fountains, ponds, and other aquatic
displays on some of the finest residential properties of the Portland
area.
Abbott's owner, Margie Allen, spent many
painstaking hours at a beautiful residential property in suburban Portland
turning an old brick planter into an ornate, European-style fountain. She needed
a quality waterproofing paint to help protect a hand-sculpted rose on the front
of the fountain from continuous water exposure.
Since she had relied on DRYLOK for
previous jobs, Margie knew the right product to choose.
I've used DRYLOK on a variety of
projects," she said. "It does a great job preventing water seepage and helps
make whatever I'm working on look attractive," Margie said.
Thanks to DRYLOK, the rose in the fountain
will look garden fresh for a long time to come.
DRYLOKŪ Par for the Course at
Golf Club
Two masonry cart path tunnels at the
prestigious Pelican Hill Golf Club, Newport Coast, California needed protection
from water seepage while maintaining the club's distinguished
appearance.
The club maintenance personnel decided to
use DRYLOK Masonry Waterproofer. They purchased 200 gallons of DRYLOK in white
and applied with much success. Now, thanks to DRYLOK, the tunnels stay dry and
so do the golfers passing through.
DRYLOKŪ a Hit with
Softball League
Officials of this girls' softball league
were justifiably proud of their new clubhouse, which replaced an old trailer
they had been using. Because the group spent so much time and effort raising
money to construct the facility, everyone realized it had to last a long time,
require little maintenance, and most importantly, protect the valuable equipment
and other league property stored inside.
League officials applied 20 gallons of
beige DRYLOK. Now, the new clubhouse not only looks great, but it is protected
from moisture seepage for years to come. DRYLOK was really a hit with the
Miss-E-League.
DRYLOKŪ Beautifies Georgia
Winery
To better accommodate the growing number
of tourists, a visitor's center was added to "Georgia's first premium winery,"
in 1987. Connected to the winery itself, the new addition needed a decorative
and durable coating that could be tinted to match the beige color of the winery.
Accurately producing the chateau's facade presented a problem. Styled after a
traditional French chateau of the 16th century, the Elan's concrete block walls
needed to look like limestone, a common building material in the 1500's.
DRYLOK's thick, sandy texture closely resembled the limestone look that the
chateau architects had been seeking (pictured above is the work in
progress).
Tintable, decorative and durable, DRYLOK
Masonry Waterproofer will protect the chateau from any future water seepage
problems.
